Entity Framework Power Tools for Visual Studio 2015

2017: Why is this post so popular? It’s always one of the highest viewed posts on my site and I’ve never understood why. When you’re done reading, please leave a comment letting me know.

I have patched the Visual Studio 2013 version of Entity Framework Power Tools (beta 4) to work with Visual Studio 2015.

You can download it here.

Source code for this extension is not available, and I did not have time to go to Microsoft to figure out when/if they’re going to release an update. Here are the steps I performed to update the extension:

  1. Download EFPowerTools.vsix
  2. Extract the vsix (it is essentially a zip file)
  3. Add the following to extension.vsixmanifest:

  4. Zip it back up as EFPowerTools.vsix

And done. And it still works.
